Four kinds of exercise, every class.

Walking is good for you, but on its own it does not cover everything as we get older. The key is variety, so each session works on all four.

Cardiovascular

Work that raises your heart rate, so everyday things like stairs, chores and hobbies stay easy to keep up.

Strength

Resistance exercises to help slow the loss of muscle and bone density that starts from our forties.

Balance

Balance and coordination exercises in every class, to keep you steady on your feet.

Flexibility

Stretching and range-of-motion work, because flexibility fades with age if we do not practise it.

You will be guided through each exercise, and our team specialises in age-related conditions such as osteoarthritis and osteoporosis, and in rehabilitation after hip and knee replacements.

Where are your classes based?

We run classes in Leixlip, Lucan, Celbridge and Maynooth. The full timetable is on this page.

Who is the class suitable for?

If you want to maintain or improve your strength, mobility, balance and fitness as you age, this class is for you. Exercises can be adapted to suit different abilities and fitness levels.

What kind of exercises do we do?

Classes include exercises for strength, balance, mobility, flexibility and coordination. We also work on movements that support everyday activities, such as getting up from a chair, reaching, carrying and walking.

What do I need to bring?

Just some water. Our band packs are optional, and you can buy them on the day.

I'm not an active person. Is the class still suitable for me?

Yes. The class suits beginners and you'll be guided through each exercise. You can work at your own pace, without feeling pressured to keep up with anyone else.

Is the class suitable for people over 70?

Yes. Our classes are designed to support healthy ageing and can be adapted for a wide range of ages and abilities.

I have a health condition. Can I still do the class?

Please tell us about any relevant health conditions, symptoms or physical limitations before taking part, so we can adapt exercises where necessary. Depending on your circumstances, you may also need to speak with your GP or healthcare professional before exercising.

How do I join?

Email or call us and we will book you into your nearest class.
